An overtime field goal by Mike Nugent hands the Bills their 2nd loss in as many weeks.
The Bengals came out strong as the third play from scrimmage went for 34 yards on a run by Marvin Jones, giving Cincinnati the ball at the Buffalo 34 yard line. The Bills hang tough though, forcing a Mike Nugent 45 yard field goal. On the ensuing possession, it was all Thad Lewis - hooking up with TJ Graham on a 47 yard pass. Lewis then took it in for a touchdown on a 3 yard run 2 plays later, making it a 7-3 Buffalo lead just 5 minutes into the First Quarter. Unfortunately for the Bills, that lead was short lived as Andy Dalton found AJ Green for an 18 yard TD which highlighted an 8 play, 83 yard drive, giving Cincy the lead back, 10-7.
Buffalo ended the 1st quarter driving all the way down to the Bengals 1 yard line, but 2 failed runs and 1 failed pass to start the 2nd resulted in a turnover on downs, giving the Bengals the ball back at their own 2 yard line. At that point it looked like the momentum may shift after Cincinnati took the ball 98 yards which ended with a 20 yard touchdown reception by Giovani Bernard. Buffalo's next possession though resulted in a field goal, as Dan Carpenter connected from 51 yards out, making it 12 consecutive field goals for Carpenter. Fast Forwarding to inside the 2 minute warning, Andy Dalton looked to drive the offense downfield and add to their lead, but Dalton was picked off by Jim Leonhard, and that took Buffalo to the 2nd half trailing 17-10
The Bills received to start the Third Quarter, and got a 19 yard gain from CJ Spiller on their second play from scrimmage, but the inexperience at the Quarterback position costs them as Vontaze Burfict recovered a fumble coughed up by Thad Lewis. In excellent field position, Cincinnati capitalizes - Dalton hooks up with Marvin Jones for a touchdown, giving the Bengals a 24-10 lead, and that is how the third quarter would end due to a Mike Nugent missed field goal inside 2 minutes.
In the 4th Quarter, Cincinnati took over inside their own five yard line, and after a 3 and out Buffalo finally forces the Bengals to punt for the first time all game. The Bills capitalize on their excellent field possession, as Thad Lewis finds Scott Chandler in the endzone for a 22 yard touchdown reception, making it a one score game. The scoring slows down, 3 straight punts between both teams gives Buffalo the ball back with two minutes left. Not wasting any time, Thad Lewis finds Marquise Goodwin for Goodwin's first career touchdown with 1:08 remaining. The ensuing possession by the Bengals goes nowhere, and the game heads to overtime.
In the extra frame, Bengals begin overtime with the ball. The Bills defense found new life towards the end of the 2nd half, it carries over as they force a Cincinnati punt, but once again, The Bills are stymied - they go three and out. On the punt, Brandon Tate has 29 yard, giving the Bengals the ball at the Buffalo at the Bills 33 yard line, and after a few run plays, Mike Nugent nets a 43 yard field goal for the 27-24 victory.
Buffalo is now 2-4, they travel to Miami next Sunday to play the Dolphins.

get over yourself! I'm sick of your "I'm smarter than every caller." Duh, "that might be right".Off goes the radio!!
I blame coaching in OT
Very conservative when the offense got their chance after the defense did their part. Marrone sucks.
Overall a good effort, but it's still a lost. Thad Lewis demonstrated that he belongs in the lineup. Given the little time he had to prepare he did a good job. Defense gave up too many big plays and need to rise to the occasion better. Offensive line is wanting and needs some better size to open holes. We can build on this though and continue to grow.
4 bad decisions this organization made
1. Drafting Christian Ponders backup in the first round, we are getting the same/better results from a practice squad QB.
2. Putting the Franchise Tag on Bird
3. Not putting the Franchise tag on Levitre
4.Nathanial Hackett as Offensive Coordinator, Previous and most recent NFL Experience: Quality Control Coach.
i like how our punter is kicking. welcome back because we really needed you . if you keep that going on thats really going to help the team. i dont why the let you go in the first place. but thank god you are back. now all we need is for all the players get back 100 percent. and start winning some games. but for me just to see improvement is a blessing. just keep on fighting and studing your game film. and you will get there. LETS GO BUFF.
What a mess!
I am lost for words..But one final statement... Tell Doug Marrone this not college football.......all games blacked out for years....so sad......here we again, next season start all over new coaches and new QB's What a mess !

Gilmoreshould not have played
I think that it was intentional that the Bengals ran screens and reverses to gilmore's side. He obviously was not comfortable tackling. He back peddled on one play and had no interst in tackling. I don't blame him he should not have been out there. And the taunting penalty on Williams was the worst call ever. Everytime their is a sack or tfl you see flexing and such. A saftey can stand over his victim waving his arms. That is not taunting but what Kyle Williams did was??? BS.
